Nearly There!

Howdy folks

Things are hotting up only 10 days to w4g kicks off.

All times for saturday confirmed. registration 1-2pm Clifden station house hotel

Inflatable class will begin at 3pm at Hole.


Some final details re boatercross on Sunday.
The event check –in is 9am sharp at “Sean Cave” Car park behind the school. The turn is beside the church. All competitors must check in.

Competitor briefing is at 9.30am

All competitors will be shuttled to race start so everyone needs to be ready from 10am.

We need to keep to time schedule due to the release so no exceptions!

There is no team event at the boatercross. Individual heats.
There will be finals in some classes and this course is shorter than qualifiers.

No wave hoppers or glass racing boats allowed!

Registration and rules

Pre- Registration for this event has now opened send entries to wetwestwhitewaterweekend@gmail.com
Please include name and which classes you will be entering.
Registration will close Friday 9 November at 6pm.
(Rodeo has limited numbers because of tide registration may close sooner)

Check In will open On Saturday after the Irish Kayak Freestyle AGM., At the Clifden Station House Hotel. Main registration from 1pm-2pm.

Entry fee will be 20euros. This includes the Rodeo, Inflatable Class and the Boatercross also free entry into the Nightclub (No free entry for Juniors..sorry!). The fee is the same for just one event.

RULES
All events:
All competitors must wear ce approved buoyancy aid and helmet while on the water at all times.
The Organisers advise that all competitors should have appropriate whitewater kayak insurance.
All kayaks must be suitable for whitewater and must have stern buoyancy bags.

Inflatable Race.
Competitors race from upstream of the bridge to a point downstream of the bridge. Any inflatable may be used. The competitors may use paddles to propel their craft. No competitor may be tied to their craft in any way. Competitors may enter this class as a team. In the event of a team winning the race they must split the prize.
This event also has a prize for best inflatable and the organisers will pick the winner at their discretion.
Safety will be provided for this event.

Clifden Rodeo
This event is a fun rodeo and fun rules have been made specifically for this event. All international moves will score as well as more fun moves such as paddle spin, air guitar, smile at judges, freestyle swim, no paddles, all low angle moves have also been added to the scoresheet. The full rules will be available on the day. Classes are mens sport, ladies sport, mens expert, ladies expert, juniors
Safety will be provided.
No parking will be provided at the hole. All competitors must park at the School

Boluisce Boatercross
Competitors will race individually in heats from their class.
The course will be from the Short Start to downstream of the Poll Gorm hole. (approx 2.5 km)
Should there be a class with a high entry their maybe a first round and a final.
Competitors in Boatercross should be competent class 3 kayakers and have a solid roll.
Safety will be provided at key points along the river however should any competitor find a participant in immediate danger assistance must be provided if possible or by informing safety kayakers as soon as possible.
No parking is available at the short start or on the road up to the river.
All competitors must park at the Spiddal Pier where shuttle will be provided to the race start.

Any competitor found in breach of any of the rules above will be disqualified immediately.
Any competitor whom the organisers deem to be unfit for paddling will also be disqualified for their own safety.
All competitors must read all rules at registration and then sign that they agree to such rules.
Junior entries must be signed by a parent or guardian.
